Enjoy all the comforts of home. The new 2-bedroom cottages have been placed for privacy and view, each having its own patio, undercover parking, and BBQ area, with well presented, functional interiors that have different bed configurations. The timber interiors create a soothing atmosphere complemented by a fireplace in the lounge and quality solid wood furnishings throughout. The kitchens are fully equipped for your culinary creations and lounges have TV and stereo CD player.

More than a self service apartment, the 2-bedroom deluxe cottages can be stocked with provisions for breakfast or for your entire stay. Only the freshest local produce is used so advance notice is requested. Check out our "Totally Tarawera Package" for a unique all inclusive 2 day experience, which includes one night's dinner at the Landing Cafe, 2 minutes from the lodge on the lake edge open 7 days from 9am till late.

With no phones in the cottages you can escape and relax in the peaceful surroundings. However, should you need to get in touch with the outside world we have phone, fax, Internet and email facilities at reception. There is limited CDMA (027) coverage on site.

The 6 private rooms have a mix of queen and double/single bunk beds with pillows, slips and sheet provided. The kitchen /dining room spills onto a north-facing deck, capturing all-day sun. As the sun sets retire inside and sit by the fire swapping stories of the day.

Relax in the spa after a game of tennis, tramping or biking through the surrounding forests. Then enjoy an aromatherapy massage in the privacy of your own cottage. Facial, Manicure and Pedicure treatments can also be arranged through the Lodge. With the Polynesian Spa and Wai-Ora Spa an easy 15 minute drive, a complete range of treatments to rejuvenate the body and soul are available.

With picturesque lakes and rivers littering the Bay of Plenty and central North Island, filled with rainbow and brown trout, trout fishing is very popular. For those wishing to maximise their fishing time, our guides can get you on the spot quickly. For those not into fishing, scenic cruises and kayaking on the lake can be arranged. A must-do is a guided tour through the Buried Village and a coffee on the lake edge at The Landing Café.
